Google: Migrating from Dropbox to Google Drive
If you are joining Cornerstone staff team and you have been used to a dropbox environment, we have some bad news, we will ask you to breakup with dropbox. The good news is hopefully this guide will make the split less painful. (It's not you, it's me)
All you have to do is drag and drop (or copy/paste) files from your synced Dropbox folder to your synced Google Drive folders.
Quick Overview:
- Download and run the Dropbox Sync tool.
- Download and run Google File Stream.
- Open Finder windows for both Dropbox and Google Drive.
- Drag and drop or copy/paste files from Dropbox to Google Drive in the Finder window.
Detailed Instructions:
- Sync Dropbox files you want to move to Google Drive by going into the Dropbox app Preferences.
Select which folders to sync by going to the Sync tab and selecting Choose folders to sync.
- Select folders you want to sync and click Update.
- Download and Run Google the Google Drive for Desktop.
- In your finder window, you will see folders for Dropbox and your Google Drive, including My Drive and Shared Drives.
- Open the Dropbox folder in one Finder window and the Google Drive folder in another window and drag and drop files and folders (or copy/paste) from Dropbox to Google Drive.
