Google: Appointment Slots in Google Calendar

Block off time in your calendar for people to reserve time to meet with you.  Need to do partner interviews or potential volunteer interviews.  Send a link to your calendar's appointment slots, and people can sign up to meet with you!

Set up appointment slots

  1. Using your G-suite account on a computer, open Google Calendar.
  2. Make sure that you're in Week view or any Day view.
  3. Click anywhere in the calendar. In the event box that pops up, click Appointment slots.
  4. Enter the details, including a title.
    1. The default duration for the appointment slot is 30 minutes, but that can be adjusted by changing the number of minutes for each slot in the same pop-up.
  5. To add more information, like a location, description, or to make the appointment block repeat, click MORE OPTIONS.
If I want Mark to join me for these appointments (to help administrate and not as a participant), I can add him to the guest list. Adding guests this way means they are invited to every appointment (image below).
  • Any guest I invite will get an email anytime someone books an appointment.

Inform people of your available appointments slots

  1. Click on the appointment block in your calendar on the web and select This calendar's appointment page.
  2. There is one link to your calendar's appointment page. If you need to open different types of appointment slots, use a different naming convention to differentiate.
  3. Use this link to send it out to people so they can pick a time to book an appointment with you.
  4. Anytime someone books an appointment, I will receive an email notification with details of the booked appointment.  That slot is now made unavailable for booking.
  5. People need to use Google Calendar or have a Google account to make an appointment.
